Love Island’s Ovie Soko on ‘positive’ romance with India Reynolds, ‘sweetheart’ bestie Amber Gill and basketball return

Life after Love Island couldn’t be better for Ovie Soko. His relationship with India Reynolds is still going strong, he’s bagged a lucrative deal with ASOS and is now a fashion model thanks to YouTube gang PAQ.

Despite the whirlwind fame since finishing as a finalist on the ITV dating series in August, we can confirm that Ovie is still very much the charismatic yet chilled out dude the nation came to adore over the long summer months.

With all the success and opportunities he’s enjoyed over the past two months, it’s no wonder Ovie reflects on his new life with a huge smile on his face.

‘Life’s been good. There’s been a lot going on obviously, but it’s been a lot of really positive energy, which is cool,’ Ovie told Metro.co.uk exclusively at his shoot with PAQ, one of YouTube’s most-watched fashion channels.

‘Me and India are really good. You know, everything is good, I really can’t complain. This moment in my life, I’m glad to be in the position I’m in, fortunate to be here.’

Undoubtedly Ovie’s biggest opportunity yet is his ASOS brand deal, which sees him modelling his collection of athleisure.

The 28-year-old joins several of his fellow Love Islanders who have bagged lucrative deals with clothing brands – Molly-Mae Hague for PrettyLittleThing, Maura Higgins for Boohoo, Tommy Fury for BoohooMAN, and Love Island winner Amber Gill for MissPap and Littlewoods.

Defending the swiftness of their deals after leaving the villa, Ovie said: ‘Helpful criticism is always good but there will always be criticism regardless.

‘I don’t get caught up with the haters, it’s a genuine opinion someone has so it’s just something I feel is right for me. I stick with all my decisions, I wouldn’t make a decision that I wouldn’t have made beforehand.

‘If I was able to possibly work with ASOS for any reason, I think my morals and things I stand for are in line [with the brand].

‘I think that’s the most important thing, through all of this, the lights and the circus and everything is just make sure you’re staying true to yourself with all your decisions and I’ve done that.’

When we speak to Ovie, it’s bang in the midst of reports claiming his girlfriend India had cheated on him with her footballer ex Kieran Gibbs – allegations which were denied.

Despite the scrutiny, Ovie and India put on a united front and he insists their relationship is still going from strength to strength.

‘India’s great man, she’s an absolute sweetheart. We’re absolutely fine, we’re happy,’ he told us.

‘We’re moving and taking positive steps and trying as much as possible to just mind our business and get on with our relationship. But India’s she’s really good.’

Phew.

And like the true gentleman he is, Ovie defended his leading lady against the false rumours.

‘It’s been really tough for her just because I don’t think it’s ever nice to say mean things to anyone, regardless of if you think it’s in defense of someone,’ he said.

‘And a lot of time comments come from a place of care, but we are all people at the end of the day, we’re all humans.

‘It doesn’t matter who you see on TV or radio – Beyonce is a human just like me and you.’

He added: ‘I think sometimes it can be a bit easy to maybe forget that we are all actually humans. You just see some people more than others and that’s literally the only difference.

‘But India’s great.’

As well as his and India’s romance still going strong, you’ll also be pleased to know that Ovie is still the best of friends with his Love Island pal Amber.

The basketball player has been on-hand to support Amber following her split from Greg O’Shea, five weeks after they won this year’s series.

Frankly, Amber seems to have bounced back just fine after their shock split and Ovie isn’t worried about his friend.

‘Amber’s cool, she’s a strong lady. She’s absolutely awesome and I think she’ll be fine moving forward,’ he revealed.

Refusing to speak negatively of Greg, he continued: ‘I think in all situations, regardless, as a community, as a society, we should do a better job of uplifting without any victims.

‘Because it doesn’t need to be a victim in any situation in order to help someone get through a tough time. There doesn’t always have to be a bad guy.

‘I think as a society, as a culture in the world now, too much of the time we’re all guilty at some point of maybe pointing a finger here or there.

‘Every last one of us, there’s not one of us that is not guilty of doing that at some point.’

He added: ‘So I just think it’ll just make it a nicer place for all of us, to help our mates when they need a hand, support the people that we care about and focus on their happiness and not anything else.’

Well said, O.

Personal dramas aside, Ovie’s got his eye firmly on the prize and focusing on work.

The TV star was the perfect muse for the PAQ boys, who each selected an outfit for Ovie to wear for the episode based on their own individual styles.

PAQ are Shaq, Danny, Elias and Dex whose individual styles range from 1960s to goth and everything in between. Their YouTube channel is one of the most popular fashion channels on the platform and they boast more than 726,000 subscribers. Past stars to feature in one of their episodes, include Maya Jama and rapper Aitch.

Speaking of their admiration for Ovie’s style, Shaq explained: ‘This guy is absolutely legendary. Countless people come on TV and become instant celebrities but to have a persona and be absolutely genuine and have people gravitate towards you because you’re cool, fly and funny, is rare.

‘He just seemed like a genuine guy and his style is iconic.’

Ovie added: ‘Each outfit [which PAQ chose] has its own personality and I’m very much a believer of staying very true to yourself. Even with how you carry yourself I’m very much about just being you.

‘They’ve seen certain things that I like, but they’re staying in their own lane and still being themselves.

‘I think it’s just the way to be. I’m more uncomfortable being myself than I would if I was trying to dress like someone else and trying to follow trends. I just wouldn’t feel comfortable in a lot of them. I just wear what I like.’

When he’s not getting into his modelling bag, Ovie plans on returning to basketball later this year with hopes of playing in the British Basketball League Championships (BBL).

And then there’s of course his passion for cooking.

If you’ve ever wanted to know what Chef Ovie would whip up in the kitchen for a special night, he teases: ‘Shrimp Alfredo or something like that. A bit of garlic bread on the side, maybe a cheeky white wine.’

Erm, we’ll be round for dinner next week, then.

Ovie Soko’s episode with the PAQ boys is available to watch on YouTube now.

Love Island 2019 finalist Molly-Mae Hague has said she’s ‘shocked’ after finding out that celebrities she loved posted negative comments about her online.

Among those, she said, was a Victoria’s Secret model who she had greatly admired.

Molly, who has stayed strong with fellow contestant Tommy Fury, found it so disgusting that she’s started working on an anti-trolling project to show people how damaging negative comments on social media can be.

Contestants of Love Island usually expect some kind of trolling, just like anyone famous probably would. Yet 20-year-old influencer Molly has got what most people would judge as a lot more hate than usual.

Plus, no hate is ever ok, which is why Molly is starting a project which explores the damage it can cause.

The star, who was sometimes referred to negatively by viewers as ‘Money-Mae’, has received a barrage of hate, including death threats, since returning to the UK.

Not only that, but she has also been criticised by a lot of celebrities who she respected.

She told Mirror Online: ‘One thing I was really shocked about when I came out was a lot of celebrities that I looked up to and really loved, I’d go back on their accounts to see what they’d been saying and a lot had been joining in on the trolling and negativity against me.

‘Like a Victoria’s Secret model who I’d adored for ages joining in on it and it was so hard to see. There were a lot of celebrities encouraging negativity.’

Molly added: ‘You’d think they’d understand better than anyone else, you just wouldn’t think that would be a thing, you’d think celebrities would understand what it feels like.’

Through her new project, she hopes to explore all aspects of life as an influencer, the negative sides of fame and how trolling can affect people’s mental health and their lives.

The Circle is the best reality show on TV: How Channel 4’s catfish series is changing the game as we know it

$

The Circle
Move away Love Island and Towie – The Circle’s the future of reality TV (Picture: Rex/Getty)

The Circle is back on our tellys and I’m here to declare something major: It’s actually the best reality show around right now.

That’s right lads, it’s even better than Love Island.

There was a time when reality competitions ruled the roost, and viewers were charmed by the relatable personalities of the ‘normal’ folk involved in all their quirky glory.

None more so than Big Brother, before it lost its way. As time went on, and the stakes were upped beyond the point of repair, it stopped being normal and started to become full of scandal with meltdowns and mental health issues as cabin fever began to set in on the show’s stars.

Nowadays, we’re presented with over-produced ‘reality’ that we’re all meant to swallow as true when everyone knows it’s not really. The amount of unfortunate run-ins the cast of Towie have with their ex would be enough to make anyone simply move house. The streets of London have never been smaller than on Made In Chelsea, where the one person you don’t want to see, just happens to be brunching at the Bluebird, perfectly lit with a camera… and honestly who has that many masquerade parties?!

But then came along The Circle, and it’s a brilliant and wonderful reminder that people are their best when they’re left to their own devices.

The Circle works in two parts – the first, allowing someone to be themselves and wander aimlessly around their specially created flat as they see fit. Then there’s the second part, the persona they put on for others.

As a result, I’m crying with laughter on a near regular basis, with twists as brilliant as Richard Madeley pretending to be a 27 year old woman called Judy, and viewers privy to information that even the own players don’t have – each other’s real identity.

We’re in on the game, and it’s a real powerful place to be.

Only communicating through a social profile created by each player the way they see fit, it’s a pure lesson in just how easy it is to deceive others on the internet – which in and of itself, is a lesson.

Currently, a single mum called Katie is pretending to be her grown up son Jay, while Liverpudlian twentysomething James is tugging at the heartstrings of the other players by pretending to be single mum, Sammie. Oh, how the other half live.

Then we get to sit back and watch as we wait for the catfish to be discovered, if they are at all.

The Circle’s brilliant because it reveals authentic selves through fake personas – they’re by themselves and therefore have no one to impress, and the game-playing is put front and centre as they try and win each other over.

The Circle
The Circle is a more accurate representation of real people despite being partly based in alternate reality (Picture: Channel 4)

There’s no sugar-coating the real intention here – The Circle is quite literally a game of popularity, with those being voted the most popular earning rights and privileges the others don’t. This isn’t unlike Love Island, only on Love Island you have to convince the public at home and your fellow islanders that you’re a good person that’s actually in love.

But Love Island has a major flaw that try as it might, it will just not get around easily – the inclusivity.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I love me some pieing, Flack Attacks and mugging offs and much as the next person. I spent more time than I’m proud of this summer cheering on Maura as she clapped back at Tom, wanting to hug Amy as Curtis broke her heart, but there are strings being pulled behind the scenes and conversations being encouraged that wouldn’t have normally, and for some reason we just have to pretend as a collective we don’t know that.

The Circle is inclusive in a way that Love Island can never be – sexuality representation, body positivity, disabilities or age just aren’t built into the world Love Island has created for itself.

Within the space of a week on Channel 4, we’ve seen all those things, repeatedly, in different ways.

chris harley love island
Love Islanders are tasked with finding love – and getting the audience at home to fall for them too (Picture: Rex Features)

Georgina spoke proudly, honestly and hilariously about her battle with Crohn’s disease that resulted in her getting an ileostomy. She showed off photos of herself in a bikini with a bag on her stomach and a beaming smile on her face. She bragged she could sit through the whole of Titanic without needing to go to the loo because of it. It was part of her.

It’s something that hasn’t gone unnoticed by viewers with stoma bags, who rarely, if ever, see their illness represented on TV like this.

Meanwhile, 18 year old Woody has opened up about being bisexual and 58 year old Tim has spoken about living with his male other half for the past 19 years, admitting his flamboyant demeanour and dress often meant he could bypass the ‘I’m Gay’ chat IRL.

A week in and the viewing public voted to bring in new girl Ella, a happy and bubbly plus-sized girl, and over muscled gym buddy Kevin ‘who looked a bit like Aston Merrygold from JLS’.

It certainly makes for a more colourful and delightful world than the stars that make up the Love Island cast, who have literally been called out for looking exactly the same in every country’s version of the addictive format. A literal one size fits all.

Or their attempt at bringing in a ‘curvy’ girl in Anna, who comes in at a gut-punching size 10 (which, newsflash, is not representation.)

Love Island have defended their casting choice, saying that the cast are ‘meant to be attracted to each other’ and I guess in a small way they have a point. I don’t want to spend the summer watching an actual plus-sized girl/guy having their confidence knocked over and over as they fall for someone only to be ignored for the one with the abs.

Or even worse, the potential fat-shaming as the offenders skirt around the issue and say there’s ‘no sexual chemistry’ or ‘just not being attracted to them’.

Fluidity in sexuality is also out, because unless everyone was bisexual it just wouldn’t work with the format of the show. Katie Salmon and Sophie Gradon threw a serious spanner in the works in series two when they coupled up, and it was incredible. It also sadly, wasn’t sustainable as the men vs women dynamic was changed.

Have someone trans on the show? No, because then it runs the risk of turning into the early 2000s reality TV horror story of There’s Something About Miriam if they choose not to disclose. Trans people deserve so much more than being represented by a load of gossip and whispers around the villa.

TOWIE grabs
Noone is this perfect lying in bed. Sorry to break it to you (Picture: ITV)

Love Island deserves to be the smash hit it is, but it becomes a victim of its own success when more and more people want in on the show, not for love, but for that sweet, sweet clothing deal that awaits them at the end of it.

This year alone, Amber has signed a £1million deal with Miss Pap, Ovie is now an ASOS man, and Molly-Mae is a face of Pretty Little Thing. In fact, the entire show has become an advert for the highest online clothing store bidder, with this year’s islanders supplied with ISawItFirst costumes and clothing that can be purchased via the app.

Over on The Circle, you get theology professor Tim wearing the brightest waistcoats and shirts you ever did see, and dressing up like he’s attending Henley Regata just so he can go for a walk and read a book on a treadmill.

He’s purity in human form and his involvement in the show alone makes it worth a watch.

Reality TV is going nowhere, whether you like it or not. It’s just nice to actually see some reality for a change – even if it is through the eyes of a catfish.

The Circle airs weeknights at 10pm on Channel 4.

Love Island’s Molly-Mae and Tommy double date with Maura and Curtis at Animal Hero Awards

It was a Love Island reunion for Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury who bumped into their close pals Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard at the Animal Hero Awards on Monday night.

Although the unpredictable autumn London weather was certainly a lot more damp than what the couples are used to, after spending most of the summer sunbathing in the hot climes of Mallorca in the Love Island villa.

Fresh from their US adventures earlier this month, Molly-Mae and Tommy, both 20, looked preened to perfection with the boxer rocking a navy blue tuxedo complete with a bowtie, while his lady love looked ever so sophisticated in a floor-length one-shoulder black gown.

The smitten couple clearly picked the right time to walk the red carpet as they managed to dodge the showers that plagued the capital this evening, and looked completely dry unlike their Love Island besties Curtis and Maura.

Curtis, 23, was an utter gentleman as he kept Maura protected from the rain with a large umbrella which boasted the union jack flag.

Always prepared that one.

While Curtis, Tommy and Molly-Mae opted for dark hues, Maura, 28, rocked a white backless jumpsuit.

Once inside, besties Tommy and Curtis posed together for a smiley selfie proving their bromance is still alive and kicking.

Molly-Mae seemed to be in high spirits after recently admitting she was surprised that celebrities whom she respected had posted negative comments about her on social media during her time in the villa.

Speaking to The Mirror, the PrettyLittleThing ambassador said: ‘‘One thing I was really shocked about when I came out was a lot of celebrities that I looked up to and really loved, I’d go back on their accounts to see what they’d been saying and a lot had been joining in on the trolling and negativity against me.

‘Like a Victoria’s Secret model who I’d adored for ages joining in on it and it was so hard to see. There were a lot of celebrities encouraging negativity.’

Meanwhile, Maura and Curtis were no doubt thrilled to spend time with each other this evening after she revealed they hadn’t seen each other in two weeks.

Maura told The Irish Mirror: ‘I mean, it’s not hard. I don’t find it hard because I’m kept busy and he is too.’

Elsewhere at the Animal Hero Awards, Love Island stars Jordan Hames had plenty of female company on the red carpet as he posed with Belle Hassan and Lucie Donlan, who had two rather adorable pups in their arms.

Crime and Punishment convict furious at missing Love Island as his cell is raided for spice drug

Crime and Punishment viewers were flabbergasted tonight when a convict expressed his outrage that he was being made to miss Love Island due to a raid on his cell.

In Monday night’s episode of the Channel 4 documentary series, a group of prison officers were seen restraining one inmate at HMP Winchester outside his cell, which was being raided for drugs like spice and contraband including mobile phones.

But it seemed the whole raid was a real inconvenience for the inmate who ordered the officers to speed up their search so he could ‘watch Love Island in peace’.

As his mattress and other belongings were being flipped over, the man said furiously: ‘I got a programme to watch, 9 o’clock. Come on hurry up man.

‘I’m just trying to watch Love Island in peace.’

It seems Love Island fever even reached prison this summer.

Needless to say, viewers couldn’t believe what they heard and shared their reactions to the inmate’s TV addiction on Twitter.

One entertained viewer said: ‘You gotta admire the keeness to watch #LoveIsland in Prison eh lol [sic].’

Another quipped: ‘“I’m just trying to watch love island in peace” hun, get a grip, give up your spice and you can get back to Cazza [sic].’

Clearly not a fan of the Love Island dating series, another remarked: ‘I suppose love island is a type of torture.’

Another viewer was furious that the prisoner even had access to a TV, commenting: ‘You shouldn’t even be allowed to watch love island. Such a joke. Shouldn’t even be allowed pen and paper in prison let alone a fucking tv [sic].’

After calming down, the prisoner addressed the spice epidemic in the prison, saying: ‘They can never stop the wave. Obviously we’re going to find a way around the system.

‘We’re just trying to make a living so by locking people up, you’re not doing anything.’

He continued: ‘When you outside they don’t give a f**k about you. Why have we got the highest rate of reoffending in the whole of Europe? 50% of prisoners are all in here on licence recall. One in two is going to come back to jail, it’s just a f****d up system and it’s always going to be like that because them politicians are a bunch of batty boys.’

During their raid, the prison officers discovered a mobile phone stashed in the middle of a pack of biscuits, and one which a prisoner had kept ‘up his backside’.

Crime and Punishment continues on Channel 4 next Monday at 9pm.

Love Island’s Amber Gill hangs out with Tyler, the Creator in Miami and he even brought her breakfast

$

Love Island’s Amber Gill can probably count hanging out with Tyler, the Creator as one of the weirder things she’s done since leaving the villa.

The 23-year-old is currently in Miami, Florida working on a photoshoot campaign with MissPap after signing a £1 million deal with the online clothing brand last month.

And it hasn’t taken long for Amber to bump into other celebrities while in the sunshine state, as she spent time with rapper Tyler on Tuesday morning.

In an Instagram Story, Amber shared a clip of Tyler in a hotel restaurant after he had presented her with a plate full of pancakes and other treats.

‘He just presented me with this at breakfast with his bare hands,’ Amber captioned the clip, offering no explanation as to how their paths crossed.

But even she admits their meeting is random as she added: ‘Life just gets weirder.’

You can say that again.

Tyler, 28, is currently in Florida performing on his IGOR Tour in promotion of his latest album so with both busy with work commitments, it’s not entirely random that they’re in the same location. The rapper had headlined a show at the American Airlines Arena on Sunday night.

Amber’s been hard at work since announcing her lucrative deal with MissPap in August.

The TV star promised her range will cater for women of all shapes and sizes in her bid to make it as inclusive for her fans as possible.

In a statement, Amber said: ‘It’s been a long-anticipated announcement by me and I’ve been dying to tell you all. However, I wanted to take my time in the design process so my collection is perfect, embodies my style and more importantly is inclusive for girls of all shapes and sizes.

‘I cannot wait for you to see what I’ve been working on you know it’s going to be GOOOD.’

Aside from her career, Amber is single again after splitting from Greg O’Shea five weeks after they won the ITV dating series.

But clearly, she’s too busy to worry about a little break-up.

Love Island’s Olivia Buckland coming round to the idea of having children with hubby Alex Bowen

Olivia Buckland is ‘starting to come round to the idea’ of having children with husband Alex Bowen.

The Love Island couple appeared on BBC Radio 1’s The Reality Tea Podcast to discuss marriage, children, and anxiety.

Both stars felt like the public pressure has been a bit too much but Olivia has started feeling ‘broody’.

She said: ‘When everyone asks me and tells me I’m like no I don’t want to and it just felt like a big pressure but actually we’ve been together nearly three and a half years now and I’m starting to come round to the idea, I’m getting slightly more broody but it’s taken a while.’

They felt that asking about having children is intrusive as people don’t know if there’s ‘anything wrong with her’.

Alex, 28, said: ‘Olivia obviously she hasn’t touch wood but she could have had anything wrong with her like she couldn’t have kids so for someone to keep asking that online could be hurtful.’

There you have it kids, asking people when they’re having children impolite.

‘I mean I have a womb but I don’t have to have a child,’ Olivia said. ‘Society just feels like you meet a person, you get married, you have a baby and oh, you have another baby.’

‘We’re quite opposite to that like we do want to do different things, I stood away from it for quite a while as I didn’t just want to be that woman that just has to have a baby.’

Alex and Olivia came second place on Love Island 2016 and have been together ever since.

The pair got engaged in 2017 before getting married in September 2018 in Essex.

They’re such couple goals that they even share their anxieties and insecurities.

Olivia said: ‘It was always shared like my anxiety, the insecurity he always tried to make it better for me and then gradually I just started believing it as I then had other people saying it to me.’

Aww, you guys.

‘…Obviously I love Olivia and whatever problems she comes with obviously I’m always gonna be there for her I’m not gonna just run off straight away like most lads would,’ Alex said.

Love Island’s Anna Vakili claims ‘loads of the contestants don’t like each other’ and we hope it’s not true

It’s because of this darn Whatsapp group, isn’t it? (Picture: ITV/REX/Shutterstock)

Love Island’s Anna Vakili has come out with a bold claim that ‘loads’ of the show’s cast aren’t actually fans of each other.

Say it ain’t so.

The 28-year-old influencer admitted that their WhatsApp group is dead as most contestants barely get along.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Anna said: ‘Let me tell you that WhatsApp group is not active at all because there are loads of people in there who don’t like each other.

‘I can’t say, I think it’s obvious from watching Love Island who doesn’t like each other.’

She can’t say but we sure can try to guess.

We all know Molly-Mae Hague and some of the other girls reportedly don’t get along since we never see them at certain launches and events.

Anna Vakili and Amber Gill
Anna, Amber and Yewande Biala have remained besties (Picture: A WEIR / BACKGRID)

And what’s Michael Griffiths up to these days?

When asked whether she thought Curtis Pritchard and Maura Higgins’ (cute albeit random) relationship is fake, she said: ‘I don’t know, I haven’t spoken to Maura. I haven’t spoken to her and I don’t speak to Curtis so I don’t know.’

Guess we can put Maura and Curtis on the list of people Anna probably doesn’t like.

The former pharmacist – who was coupled up with Jordan Hames before an explosive row ended it all – apparently still talks to Molly-Mae regularly.

She said: ‘I spoke to Molly yesterday and she said how Tommy and her are very happy at the moment – so hopefully it will last forever.’

Meanwhile, all (well, nearly all) the Islanders have been living their best lives receiving endless deals and holidays.

Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury, both 20, have moved in together after securing the bag with PrettyLittleThing and boohooMAN deals.

The pair are happier than ever despite trolls assuming they would immediately split.

Our crowned winner Amber Gill has been shooting Miss Pap campaigns in Florida while simultaneously hanging out with Tyler The Creator like it’s no big deal.

He made breakfast for her, guys. Breakfast.

National Ovie Day has come and gone but we shall petition for it to always be a day celebrating the nation’s coolest dude.

All in all, even if the group chat’s dead, the gang are having a great time.

Love Island’s Anna Vakili hints Jordan Hames’ relationship with Ferne McCann is stunt

We all lost our minds when Ferne McCann and Love Island’s Jordan Hames started getting close, with pictures emerging of the pair kissing on a night out.

But Anna Vakili is having absolutely none of it, hinting the whole thing was just a stunt.

When asked for her thoughts on the new couple, the 28-year-old branded her ex ‘old news,’ but reportedly refused to rule out the idea that they were just playing up for the cameras.

‘I don’t know,’ she replied. ‘He is irrelevant. He is old news.’

While running into our exes on a night out – or anywhere, really – would be an actual nightmare for most, Amber Gill’s best pal isn’t too fussed about the idea of seeing the 24-year-old again.

Because he probably won’t be invited….

Discussing whether she was worried about seeing the ITV2 star when out with their fellow Islanders, she continued to the Sun: ‘No. He is not [invited], which says a lot.’

Love Island's Anna Vakili

So, so savage.

Love Island viewers devoted their summers to watching the gang fall in love, and right back out of it, in a bid to win the £50,000 prize.

But Anna left us all shook when she confessed that, despite living in a villa together for weeks, loads of the contestants don’t actually like each other that much.

‘Let me tell you that WhatsApp group is not active at all because there are loads of people in there who don’t like each other,’ she told the publication. ‘I can’t say, I think it’s obvious from watching Love Island who doesn’t like each other.’

Anna and Jordan in Love Island
Jordan pursued India Reynolds just hours after asking Anna to be his girlfriend (Picture: ITV2)

Without going into too many details, the pharmacist admitted she hasn’t kept in touch with Maura Higgins, and doesn’t speak to her beau, Curtis Pritchard.

Well, he did encourage Jordan to pursue India Reynolds just hours after asking Anna to be his girlfriend, so that’s fair enough.

And she poured ice cold water over those claims that Molly-Mae Hague has distanced herself from everyone, adding: ‘I spoke to Molly yesterday and she said how Tommy and her are very happy at the moment – so hopefully it will last forever.’

So that’s that, then.

Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for Jordan and Ferne for a comment.

Love Island stars Belle Hassan and Anton Danyluk have hinted at a rekindling of their romance after they were caught on camera enjoying a flirty double date with Lucie Donlan and Joe Garratt.

In the video shared by Lucie, Belle did a tequila shot off of Anton’s abs and then took the lime from his mouth as the pair giggled their way through the challenge.

‘Just friends!’ Anton laughed on camera as Belle giggled away in the background.

The pair split just five weeks after leaving Love Island but they both insisted there was no bad blood between the two.

Anton later revealed that he felt there would ‘always be something there between me and Belle’ and that the pair remained close in spite of going their separate ways.

‘We still make sure we speak to each other every day, which is really really nice that we can keep up that friendship, and who knows in the future what it might lead to,’ the 25-year-old said in September.

Anton and Belle met on the ITV2 show during the Casa Amor twist and underwent several ups and downs before they left the Majorcan compound before the final.

However his comments came after Belle told Metro.co.uk that although they ‘still talk here and there’ it was ‘really hard when he’s traveling and we’d go two or three days without talking’.

She added: ‘And for me, when I’m seeing someone, I need more than that. At least if I’m not seeing you, call me, pick up the phone.’

Love Island’s Montana Brown has become a counselor helping kids to speak about their feelings after friend Mike Thalassitis’ death

Love Island star Montana Brown has enrolled as a counselor.

The reality TV star is using her new role to encourage young people to talk about their feelings.

She appeared on morning TV to debate about the term ‘sadfishing’, which is when people post sad things online in a bid to attract attention.

Montana has been open about her feelings on social media in the wake of the death of fellow Love Island star Mike Thalassitis.

The former islander said speaking about it on Instagram has helped her, and now she is hoping to help young kids in a similar way.

On Thursday’s Good Morning Britain, host Susanna Reid asked: ‘Do you not think that’s a cry for help in itself that people feel easier to write about it online than it is to talk about it in person?’

Montana replied: ‘I’ve just enrolled to be a crisis practitioner basically, a counselor to help young kids to talk online, and they feel a lot more comfortable texting in rather than speaking to someone about it and that’s just the way we live at the minute.’

Turning to the death of her friend, who died by suicide in March, Montana explained: ‘I shared about my friend Mike and how upsetting that was for me and how I felt after losing someone in that way.

‘Of course you get negativity along the way, but that doesn’t really bother me because I know I helped a lot of people as well.’

Earlier this year Montana wrote a poem about Mike, which appeared in a book about mental health called It’s Not OK to Feel Blue and Other Lies.

She said of her contribution: ‘People made me feel really bad about talking about him publicly, accusing me of using his death for my own good, and it really made me sad.

‘But tbh I don’t care about that anymore, the point is people are hurting silently, and Mike was hurting silently for a while and nobody saw the signs because he didn’t reach out.

‘So let’s all speak up about mental health, and hopefully all these amazing inspirational contributors can show you it’s ok to speak about your experiences too.’

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.

Theo Campbell accused by former Love Island star of faking his blindness

Who would lie about something like that? (Picture: Rex)

Love Island’s Theo Campbell has hit back at a former Islander who accused him of faking the freak accident which left him blind in one eye.

The former contestant, who appeared on the show’s third series in 2017, lost all sight in one eye back in August, after a champagne cork hit his eye.

Now, for most people, that sounds like the kind of weird, unfortunate story you can’t (or would have no reason to want to) make up.

However, for Idris Virgo (you know, the one who always lurks in the Love Island comment section), the accident wasn’t convincing, with the boxer speculating that he ‘[thinks] it’s fake tbh’ in a leaked group chat message shared by 28-year-old Theo on Twitter.

Clapping back at Idris, who had an extremely short stint on the show’s fourth series in 2018, Theo wrote: ‘You missed out the part where you’re telling you’re little people I’m lying about my eye.. only a idiot like yourself would lie about such a thing [sic].

‘That fact you’re putting our convo on Twitter just proves once again what a BEG you are. BEG BEG BEG such a loser.’

Kaz Crossley Theo Campbell
Theo is dating series four runner up Kaz Crossley (Picture: @theo_campbell91/Instagram)

Yikes…

Never one to back down (remember the infamous Jonny/Tyla drama?), Theo continued: ‘You’re boring. You didn’t get an invite to the reunion because you had 0 personality on the show. Everyone else should, only you shouldn’t.’

Theo, who is currently appearing on MTV’s The Challenge, concluded: ‘Because your a puppet that’s why you won’t get casted again. I duno why you try so hard online to make noise. But carry on its laughable [sic].’

When Idris replied that Theo was only famous because of his girlfriend Kaz Crossley, adding: ‘Man had to shoot him self with a cork to get clout,’ the argument felt pretty much lost at this point.

Or as one Twitter user pointed out to Idris: ‘You were on love island for FOUR days….’

Despite things looking pretty bleak for Theo, the reality star is determined to stay positive and is hopeful that he may regain his sight one day.

‘They said the doctor in Ibiza did a very good job with the stitches. The eye is together which is the main part and I’ve still got it obviously,’ he said, ‘the outside of the eye is damaged, I can open it and I see light, light can come in so I’m not completely blind, so that is a good step.’

Despite his doctor at London’s Moorfields Eye Hospital telling him there was ‘no chance’ of him regaining his sight like it was before, Theo was determined to prove them wrong.

He explained: ‘I was like, “There’s a little bit of a chance?”, and he was like “No never like how you used to you’re just going to have to see but it’s very unlikely.”

‘I just feel like I know my body and you don’t know, I feel like it might be alright? He was like “It might be but I don’t think it will be”.

Love Island winner Dani Dyer is ‘loved up to the eyeballs’ with new boyfriend Sammy Kimmence.

Dani won the show with Jack Fincham but the pair split after just less than a year together in April 2019.

She reunited with her ex Sammy, and now her father, EastEnders star Danny Dyer, has spoken about their romance and said that Sammy ‘seems proper’.

‘It’s weird, I was on here last time talking about her other geezer [Jack Fincham],’ he said on The Jonathan Ross Show, which airs on Saturday night.

‘She’s moved on, it’s all lovely, she is loved up to the eyeballs.

‘This geezer seems proper. [Jack Fincham] seemed alright, listen, things happen. She is cracking on now though, it’s all good.’

The two split briefly in 2018 however they rekindled just in time for their TV series, and love was once again a thing.

But in April, Jack took to social media to confirm that the pair were ‘not in a relationship anymore’.

‘We will always care a lot for each other and have love for each other and I mean that from the bottom of my heart and I wish her nothing but happiness,’ he added.

‘We have some amazing memories together and have been through a lot but something things aren’t meant to be and we really did try to make it work but it, unfortunately, didn’t and that is life.’

Danny found acclaim on BBC One soap EastEnders after years of working in films and he is now set to launch his own game show.

But the proud father revealed that despite his propensity for swearing, his kids like to call him out on it, and that they are ‘well brought up kids, they go to good schools, they are articulate’.

As for becoming a grandfather, he said of Dani that he didn’t think she was ‘maternal in that sense’.

‘She’s very ambitious. She wants to crack on and I think she’ll have chavs maybe in her thirties,’ he joked.

‘I’m not going to encourage my daughter to have any kids, it’s madness because then you sort of think about her having a roll about… We know it goes on but I’m not going to encourage it!’

The Jonathan Ross Show airs on Saturdays on ITV at 10.30pm.

Love Island’s Camilla Thurlow’s anxiety became so bad she considered taking her own life

Love Island star Camilla Thurlow has revealed that her anxiety became so bad she briefly considered taking her own life.

The reality star found fame in the 2017 season but has now spoken out about being ‘trapped in a negative spiral’ and admitted she wondered what ‘not being alive’ would be like for her.

‘It’s hard to talk about this necessarily, it’s not that the other option becomes any less terrifying but when life becomes unbearable like that you do start to think in a different way, it starts to change the way you look at everything,’ she said.

‘It’s difficult for the people around you, of course, if you’re a people pleaser as soon as you start disappointing the people around you because you’re feeling like that then you’re trapped in that again, it’s just a constant negative spiral,’ she said on the How To Fail podcast.

‘You start to entertain thoughts about what not being alive would be like, even if it’s just letting that cross your mind or whether it becomes a more serious thought pattern.

‘But then it’s not like that is less scary or worrying, but you can’t see how this feeling will go… immediately previous to Love Island I was in a very, very difficult phase and I really struggled to see a way out of it.

‘It’s when you can’t see a way out, there’s no light because you don’t think that there’s light at the end of the tunnel.’

Whilst Camilla says her mental health is in a better place now, her confession comes after the tragic deaths of Love Island stars Mike Thalassitis – who was on the same series as Camilla in 2017 – and Sophie Gradon, who both died by suicide.

She said, however, she didn’t think she could call it depression although she acknowledged she felt PTSD contributed to her emotions.

She admitted that she felt she had hit a ‘low period’ which she is ‘still coming off the back of’ when she turned 30 recently.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B2hqnTclhmW/

Camilla – who is set to star in her own show, What Camilla Did Next, in 2020 – then added that whilst she is good at ‘helping other people’ through emotional rough patches, she isn’t the best at supporting herself.

The star, who now lives with Calvin Klein model Jamie Jewitt whom she met and fell for on the show, explained: ‘It’s like I can help other people but I can’t help myself.’

‘To sit with myself and try and support myself when I’m feeling a bad moment I just descend into self-loathing,’ she added.

‘It’s when you can’t see a way out, there’s no light because you don’t think that there’s light at the end of the tunnel.’

Love Island’s Amy Hart proves that you don’t just have to wear pink on Wednesday’s, as she sported a floral pink ensemble at the Meggan Grubb X The Style launch party in London.

The reality star was on hand at the event on 3 October to support pal Meggan Grubb, who is launching her own clothing line with fashion brand In The Style, and was dressed to impress in a pink get-up, consisting of a floral-printed top and skirt, paired with a matching set of earrings and nude-coloured heels.

Amy also took to Instagram to share a photo of her at the event, as she could be seen lying on a leopard-print sofa, with a neon sign that read ‘Stike A Pose’ hanging in the background.

‘It is Mean Girls Day after all,’ she captioned the post – a reference to the iconic 2004 movie.

The star also recently revealed that she ‘would go into bed at lunchtime at cry’ following her appearance on Love Island, as she searched for newfound love.

Amy was coupled up with Curtis Pritchard on the ITV2 series, however he soon ended things after the islander’s stint in Casa Amor, with the former flight attendant subsequently leaving the villa.

‘I had my heart put in a blender,’ she told Closer magazine.

‘I used to get into bed at lunchtime and cry my eyes out… I wouldn’t have been in a fit state to have met anyone.’

Curtis has since moved on to model Maura Higgins, with Amy later adding that she wishes nothing but ‘happiness’ for the two moving forward.

‘They obviously make each other very happy, so I’m happy for them.’

Love Island’s Tommy Fury has been branded a ‘diva’ by fans after he cancelled a nightclub appearance in Plymouth at the last minute.

The reality star was set to make an appearance at the Fever & Boutique nightclub in Plymouth on 4 October, but snubbed the event to instead attend Shocktober Fest with girlfriend Molly-Mae Hague.

The club confirmed the disappointing news in a statement on Facebook, as they revealed that fellow Love Islander Sam Bird will be replacing him.

‘Tommy Fury will not be joining us tonight BUT instead, we have SAM BIRD with a DJ set and PA!’ the club said.

‘Tommy’s management company confirmed on Wednesday that he would be making an appearance tonight, but earlier today he decided that he doesn’t want to make the journey down to Plymouth.

‘We are absolutely gutted and we’ve been frantically trying to sort a replacement out, and our friend Sam Bird has kindly offered to step in with a DJ set and PA to keep the party going!’

They later added that they were ‘sorry to let everyone down’, stating that Tommy’s cancellation was out of their control, offering all clubbers a free drink during the night to make up for the disappointment caused.

However, fans in the comments were less than impressed.

The Fever & Boutique nightclub's statement on Facebook

‘Literally just got a spray tan and my hair done for Tommy, FURYous,’ one fan said.

Nice pun.

Another added: ‘He doesn’t want to make the journey to Plymouth? Divvvva.’

‘What a joke as if… Sorry Plymouth isn’t good enough for him… ayy?!’ another commented.

Metro.co.uk have contacted reps for Tommy for comment.

Tommy was instead seen with Molly-Mae at the Shocktober Fest event in Crawley, Sussex, alongside stars such as fellow Love Island contestant Curtis Pritchard, Kerry Katona and Katie Price’s ex-husband Kieran Hayler.

Love Island mercilessly mocked by Phoebe Waller-Bridge on Saturday Night Live

You know you’re an international phenomenon when SNL mocks the living hell out of you – so congratulations Love Island, you’ve officially made it.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge led the cast for the weekly satirical look at the world, with Phoebe taking on the lip-filler loving Bella-Rosa whose dad’s a builder and mum’s a pub.

She’s soon coupling up with Finlay, a man who’s ‘just looking for the right woman to cheat on for the rest of his life’.

Love Island - SNL
Look familiar….? (Picture: NBC)

(Anyone else getting Anna and Jordan kinda vibes from these two?!)

Meanwhile, Aidy Bryant appears to be channelling her inner Gemma Collins if anyone, wiping off her make-up to reveal she looks like a thumb.

‘You will watch 50 hours of this…you think you won’t but you will,’ the fake ad states – which is definitely a vibe we can get behind.

Then there’s those super awkward late night moments where the other islanders have to endure beds creaking and duvet covers doing little to hide anything.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge
Phoebe went all in on the Love Island send up (Picture: NBC)

Unfortunately for Bella-Rosa, she is soon dumped from the island…but her sorrow doesn’t last too long as she discovers she’s now got 1.2million Instagram followers.

‘Well I don’t have to be a stupid paediatric nurse anymore do I?! Kerching!,’ she praises.

The accuracy is a little scary.

Fleabag star Phoebe made her hosting debut on SNL and had Taylor Swift as her musical guest, ensuring it was a girl power kind of evening.

Saturday Night Live airs on NBC in the US, and is available internationally on YouTube.

Carrying on her ascent to super-stardom, Waller-Bridge hosted SNL for the first time (Picture: Rex Features)

It’s been quite the year for Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Emmys galore, a sell-out run of shows on the West End and now her debut as a hot on the iconic Saturday Night Live (SNL).

Considering she has her finger on the pulse of British life in 2019, it’s no surprise her hosting gig had a little nod to Love Island

What did Phoebe Waller-Bridge say about Love Island?

She didn’t say anything, as it were, but she took part in a merciless parody skit – that honestly could’ve been a word-for-word recreation of a real Love Island episode.

In the sketch, West London’s Waller-Bridge looking donned a black wig, prosthetic nose and orange tan.

‘Just got my lips done – I asked the doctor for an allergic reaction’, she said, imitating her very best Essex accent.

After being ghosted by her Love Island suitor, Waller-Bridge threw it back to one of Love Island’s best-known phrases and cried: ‘The whole thing’s a bit muggy.’

Things turned around on the island though.

After realising she has 1.2 million Instagram followers, the character says: ‘Well I don’t have to be a stupid paediatric nurse anymore do I? Kerching.’

Fleabag, is that you? (Picture: BACKGRID)

What else happened on Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s SNL?

She opened the show with a witty monologue explaining the differences between her and her Fleabag character.

Though both character and real-life Phoebe are ‘sexually depraved, foul-mouthed and dangerous’ (her words!), she added ‘I’m not a sex addict because I wrote Fleabag – but I did write Killing Eve because I’m a psychopath.’

She also, unsurprisingly for anyone who’s seen Fleabag, took a stand for women being as bawdy, brazen and bossy as they please.

Referring back to her recent Emmy triumphs, she said: ‘Back in the day, horny women were to be feared. And now they’re given Emmys.’

She took home the Emmy for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series and Writing for a Comedy Series, with Fleabag taking home the gold for Outstanding Comedy Series over long-running favourites like Veep.

Phoebe Waller Bridge taking SNL by storm is just another accomplishment in what’s been a very fruitful few years.

From Fleabag’s huge success on home turf and overseas, to Killing Eve’s massive plaudits and being tipped to write the next Bond, the Ealing native is conquering the world.

Jess Shears seems to be adjusting to life with a baby very nicely as she shared a video of her enjoying motherhood while relaxing on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

The Love Island star announced on Saturday that she had given birth to her first child with Dom Lever, with both former Islanders sharing adorable pictures of their little one sleeping to Instagram.

On Sunday evening, 26-year-old Jess shared a video to her Instagram Stories with an obligatory comedy filter as she enjoyed some quality time with her baby, panning the phone camera down to show the child’s little feet (so tiny!) and flashing her incredible looking body in the process.

Now, we know the post pregnancy ‘snap back’ is overrated and everyone has to move at their own pace, but we can’t believe how amazing and happy she looks!

However, that change hasn’t been without hard work, with Dom documenting the couple, who met on the ITV2 dating show in 2017, returning to the gym in the morning with a video of Jess lifting weights captioned: ‘We back.’

Well, there’s us never having an excuse for skipping a workout again…

However, after Jess’ found herself faced with comments asking why she was back in the gym so soon after first posting about their child, whose name and sex is yet to be announced, Jess clapped back at her these online critics.

‘Can people stop assuming they know anything about the birth of our child,’ she wrote.

‘Just because we chose to share an image yesterday doesn’t mean that’s when they were born.

‘Dom, baby and I are happy, healthy and recovering at our own rate.’

Well that’s what we like to hear!
